Sai gained his PhD from the University of Strathclyde, UK in 2004 after researching the implementation of performance measurement and its impact on business. The following year he received an Outstanding Doctoral Award from Emerald and European Foundation for Management Development. Prior to joining MMU, Sai worked as a Research Fellow at Exeter University on an EPSRC project in association with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and BAE (British Aerospace) Systems examining the factors influencing the value co-creation and co-production in the service delivery. Sai has published many papers in reputed journals such as International Journal of Management Reviews, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Service Management, Computers and Industrial Engineering, Production Planning and Control as well as Journal of Service Theory and Practice. Having published over 50 articles in various international journals, trade magazines and international conference proceedings, Sai received two best paper awards from Emerald and Institute of Engineering Technology respectively. Sai is currently serving on a number of editorial boards of international journals including Production Planning and Control, IMA Journal of Management Mathematics and Measuring Business Excellence. Prior to taking up his academic roles, Sai spent six years in the construction industry implementing continuous improvement projects. This experience led him to gain Lean Six Sigma Transactional Black Belt certification with the British Standards Institute (BSI).
